The Dana Team:
Dana, which means generosity or non-greed, is at the center of our practice. The attitude of letting go and the activity of giving itself has the potential to open our hearts. In the context of Sangha, Dana is given to support the Sangha – from candles to tea; it is also offered to the teacher for the priceless gift of transmitting the Dhamma. These are considered powerful opportunities to develop and practice Dana, for they sustain the teachings for the benefit of all. The Dana team provides us with other opportunities to offer Dana through various events. Since the concept of Dana is unfamiliar in our acquisitive society, they are also available to talk about Dana, if you find the topic confusing or unsettling. If you want to be on the Team, contact Tom [TomS at prairiesangha dot org].
