In addition to teaching the basic sitting practice, the mentor introduces the following concepts:
Ehipasseko: Pali term meaning "come see for yourself"
Breath as one-pointed concentration: used as an anchor for moment-to-moment concentration, which is mindfulness.
Mindfulness: direct, perceptual awareness and balanced acceptance of the present moment's experience. This is practiced in formal sittings and walking meditation as well as daily life.
The Middle Way: the path to liberation from the suffering of clinging
Impermanence: the opening of our minds to perceive impermanence the natural arising and passing away of all phenomena. Clinging to what is impermanent is the cause of suffering, or unsatisfactoriness.
